Andrew J. Erkis, PhD
As the founder of Erkis Consulting Group Dr. Erkis has helped hundreds of families as a therapeutic and educational placement consultant. He is also an expert in the field of mental health having worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including: clinical staff member for an inpatient psychiatric hospital; family divorce counselor, outpatient therapist; and senior therapist in one of the countries top wilderness therapy programs.

He holds an M.A. in Counseling and Social Psychology from Ball State University, a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and completed his pre-doctoral internship at The Ohio State University. As an educator he has taught courses in group therapy, dual diagnosis (co-occurring drug and alcohol issues), treatment, and counseling theory at Pennsylvania State University and Ball State University.

He is a published author on counseling, therapeutic options, and the mental health industry. He is currently writing a book “When all Else Fails: A Guide for Parents Considering Out-of-Home-Placement for Their Struggling Teen."
